Rab Town

Rab Island CroatiaThe city is a typically medieval urban centre surrounded by walls that are in large part still standing. The old city is dominated by four bell towers mainly in the Romanesque style. Earlier, Rab was a Roman settlement, which was given the status of city by Octavius Augustus, who proclaimed it a municipium in the year 10 B.C.
If you love old cities in which every building brings to mind dozens of generations, you will feel really good in Rab. Above many of the Renaissance and Gothic portals you can still see the crests of the aristocratic families of Rab, the descendants of whom are your kindly hosts of today.
Right next to the city walls is the lovely Komrcar park, and below it a long path and bathing place.

supetarska draga

Rab Island CroatiaSupetarska Draga is perhaps the most peaceful place on the island. Situated on a protected cove and surrounded by fresh water springs and lush fields, it is a great place to site and enjoy the quiet beauty of the island. The fertile valley houses have spread round the Draga Bay. The modern, well-equipped marina, as well as the nesting place and winter habitat of a number of bird species on the location of a former saltern speak about beauty and spirit of the times. People who come in boats can stay briefly by one of the neighbouring islets, Maman, Srednjak or Sailovac. Islets are attractive with their clean and protected sand beaches and bays, and rich undersea life around them is discovered to the sport fisherman.

kampor

Kampor is located in the north-west of the island. With its two large bays St. Euphemia and the bay of Kampor as well as many smaller ones on the Kalifront peninsula. Kampor has best preserved its aspect of an old fishermen's village; old houses at the foot of the hill as well as the new ones, designed for tourists, almost fully cultivated fields and orchards, the catch of skilled fishermen and the atmosphere of a peaceful village are major attractions of this picturesque village.

lopar

Rab Island CroatiaThe most isolated place on the island of Rab has kept in its way of life and in its speech the firmest links with the past. Enclosed by 22 sand beaches, Lopar is very variegated and picturesque. The sand, warm shallow water, and thick woods that offer shade and cool are especially attractive to those who come with small children. The Sahara, Ciganka and Stolac beaches are open to naturists. There is a sports and recreation centre in the vicinity. All of these facilities are available to guests accommodated in attractive modern private houses intended for renting. Links with other places on the island are good, and apart from that, there is a summer ferry link with the island of Krk and the city of Senj on the mainland.

banjol

Part of Banjol is scattered over the hills above the road, and the other part, below the road, dips to the sea in four bays, or Padova. Banjol, like all the other towns and villages on the island, offers accommodation for tourists in attractive and up-to-date houses. The individuality of Banjol lies in its Padovas, or sheltered bays, which teem with swimmers during the day, and at night with little boats coming back from their fishing.
Houses along the beaches, little piers on the shore, a view of the old city and its bell-towers, and the path that goes along the very shore, all make Banjol a place to come back to.

barbat

The first place to greet you after incredibly denuded Misnjak is Barbat. The Barbat people have spontaneously mixed the modern with the traditional, and in private pensions you'll be able to relish meals featuring fish and other sea-food. Many of the people in the village who are in the catering haven't turned their backs on their land, raising sheep, growing crops and grapes and keeping bees. Many of these organic products find their way onto the tables of the guests. And in addition, the proximity of the sea, the many gravel beaches and the safety of the Barbat Channel enclosed by the elongated Dolin Island, attract many visitors, especially wind-surfers and sailors.

palit

Palit is partly located alongside the Bay of St. Eufemija, which is closed in by the Frkanj peninsula. Wooded Frkanj is a draw for tourists with its somewhat wild nature and bays. Kalifront continues naturally on from Frkanj; this is a peninsula on which there is a forest of indigenous holm oak called Dundo protected by a conservation order. On the western side of the island there is a bay after bay edged with dark pines.
