Croatia mapCroatia is a beautiful small country (56,542 sq. km and population of 4,500,000 mil.) bounded by Slovenia to the northwest, Hungary to the northeast, Serbia to the east, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro to the southeast and the Adriatic Sea to the west and southwest. Topographically, the country can be divided into three regions. The barren, rocky mountains of Dalmatia which are part of the Dinaric Alps and extend through the center of Croatia. The rolling hills of the Zagorje region which is located north of Zagreb and the Pannonian Plain. Croatia consists of 20 counties (Zupanije) and the city of Zagreb which was also given the status of a county totalling 21 counties. These counties are administrative areas within Croatia.

croatiaThe sea area of the east Adriatic coast from the peninsula Savudrija in the west to the peninsula Prevlaka in the south-east belongs to the Republic of Croatia. This magnificent part of nature, Croatian coast, 5790 km in length, and its 1185 islands, 67 of which are inhabited, is considered as one of the best indented coasts in the world, and is undoubtedly the most popular tourist destination. In hotels, apartments and holiday houses along the Croatian coast stayed many famous people like Prince Charles, Tom Cruise, Bill Gates, Naomi Campbell, Steven Spielberg, John Malkovich, Bill Clinton.

There are manny beautiful islands in Croatia, like Korcula, the birthplace of Marco Polo, Hvar, Brac, which has one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean - Zlatni rat which is also a windsurfing paradise. Croatia has 8 National Parks and 10 Parks of Nature, and ecologically it is the land with the purest environment in the Mediterranean.
